A small family business with 40+ years of experience
Bowsan Property Repairs is run by John Bowness, who has worked in construction his whole life.
John did his first apprenticeship in England's Lake District, then worked across Europe and studied with the Chartered Institute of Building. In the UK he supervised Helifix repairs on churches, sports centres and homes damaged by tunnelling. Many of those buildings still showed no further movement more than a decade later.
Since 2012, he's brought that experience to Perth. As a small team, you deal with the person who does the work, from the first site visit to the final repoint.

No. Site visits and quotes are free for homeowners and professional clients. We'll look at the problem, explain what's causing it, and give you a written repair proposal.

Helifix is a proven system of stainless steel bars and ties used to repair cracked and unstable masonry without demolition. Bowsan is a Helifix Approved Installer, one of a small number in Australia and New Zealand, which means the repair is specified and installed to Helifix's standards.

Do you work with insurers, loss adjusters and engineers?
Yes. A lot of our work comes from structural engineers, loss adjusters, insurance companies and surveyors. We can provide repair specifications, quotes, photos and full H&S documentation.
Will the repair be visible?
Helifix repairs are concealed inside the mortar joints, which are repointed to match, or under render that's patched and ready to paint. In most cases you won't be able to see where the crack was.
